Happy 23rd Birthday! Some of us international LUNÉ have come together to show our love and appreciation for you through this little project. In your recent ar Magazine interview, you asked LUNÉ: 「 僕のことを好きになったきっかけを教えてください。」 or “What is it that made you start liking me?” and well, we’ve collected as many answers as we could just for you! We hope our love reaches you from all around the world, to wherever you are.

To those who’ve supported you since I-LAND and &AUDITION, it was your hard work and determination that drew them to you. They saw your talent and potential as a young trainee from Taiwan, who moved away from home to pursue his dreams. Along with that, you had to learn new languages to communicate with the people around you. Learning new languages is not an easy task, but you have proven it to be possible and continue to inspire so many people to push through similar challenges. Even to LUNÉ who weren’t there to witness your early beginnings, your passion for performing is still seen in the NICHOLAS we know today and is one of the main reasons people turn into a fan of yours. Your voice when singing and rapping is so unique. Your dance style is impressive and shows your background in breakdancing really well. Your stage presence as a whole allows you to connect with your audience effortlessly and makes you stand out in ways that leave people with such a striking impression – making them want more of you, and of &TEAM.

The words “cheerful” and “happy” were the most answered when LUNÉ talked about their first impressions of you. We know you’ve expressed your worries about being perceived as “cold” or “intimidating” based on physical appearance, but we want to let you know that those who’ve had such impressions quickly learned that wasn’t the case with you. Don’t judge a book by the cover, right? First impressions are subjective but maybe it’s because you’re just too cool, Nico~ You’re so cool that your fashion sense is also another factor that made some LUNÉ start liking you. Your confidence and ability to express yourself through clothes made fellow fashion lovers like you get into &TEAM. You’re not afraid to experiment and have established your own distinct style that intrigues anyone who happens to pass you by. You’re also athletic (a dancer, former badminton athlete, skilled basketball player and swimmer), you’re musically gifted (a singer, rapper, pianist, guitarist), and you can speak 4 languages (Mandarin, English, Korean, Japanese). You have all these skills, and it’s amazing how you still want to learn more!

A lot of LUNÉ were also drawn to your personality through videos they randomly saw on their social media feeds. A frequently answered moment was the iconic “晚安, two, three.” during your Weverse Live last year with JO and EJ. It was a silly misunderstanding that somehow lots of LUNÉ find very memorable. We also love the random things you do, from not knowing how to say “abra cadabra” to suddenly breaking into song whenever you hear a word that you can sing. The way you joke about being “allergic to mornings” as an excuse for not being a morning person and how you ironically deny your cuteness by being cute – these are some moments that show off your extremely likable and bubbly personality, especially to those who may not know you that well yet. Another popular answer among LUNÉ was N&M Weverse Lives. Your silliness and bickering shows just how comfortable you are with each other, and with the other members as well. We find so much comfort in the relationship you have as a group and how you care for the members without expecting anything in return. Seeing you be yourself, alone or with the members, was all it took for LUNÉ to start liking you. To put it simply, you are loved because we see you for all that you are. Not just as NICHOLAS from &TEAM, but as Nico, WENO, 니콜, and 王奕翔 too.

Aside from answering your question, we also wanted to let you know how you have made a positive impact on our lives. There are reasons why we became your fans and reasons why we continue to stay. We believe you deserve to know why as well! To start things off, you’ve given a lot of people happiness through the simplest things. Your smile can light up a room and your laugh is contagious. Both of which are popular favorites of LUNÉ when asked about their favorite thing about you. You also always make an effort to communicate with LUNÉ despite your busy schedules and it really means a lot to us. When you’re on Weverse DMs or Weverse Live, it’s like we’re hanging out with our best friend because you’re always so comfortable and real with us. You give the best advice and empathize with us so well, and for that, we thank you.

💌 Thank you for teaching us confidence. Your love for fashion has encouraged a lot of us to improve on our own personal style and explore what makes us feel comfortable. What matters is that we feel good in what we wear and we get to see a great example of that through your #NICOOTD posts. When you perform, you are full of charisma and know exactly how to make it enjoyable for everyone watching you. It inspires LUNÉ who also sing & dance to give our all in every performance and just have fun doing what we love.

💌 Thank you for teaching us bravery. Your constant seeking for a new adventure has inspired us to step out of our comfort zones and enjoy life freely. “Brave” is also a word you always use whenever you talk about learning different languages. A lot of LUNÉ come from different parts of the world and we get the courage to speak in our mother tongues and in the other languages we’re learning because of you. Making mistakes is inevitable, but you remind us that it’s all part of the learning process.

💌 Thank you for teaching us patience. In relation to your language skills, you’ve shown us that being patient is essential in order to improve. You aren’t too hard on yourself and give yourself credit for your hard work. LUNÉ have also noticed your patience with the members and it’s always so heartwarming to see. You remind us that patience for ourselves and for the people around us gives us all the gentleness we deserve every once in a while.

💌 Thank you for teaching us to always work hard and stay passionate. Your idol journey has had a lot of ups and downs, yet you never gave up and still manage to keep yourself grounded. You’re always open to accepting new challenges because you believe in yourself and your abilities. To you, there’s always room for improvement and that’s why you work nonstop. You love what you do and we see it well through your efforts. Your undeniable passion for performing reminds us to keep pursuing our dreams, whatever it takes.

💌 Thank you for being generous and kind. The little things you do for the people around you don’t go unnoticed. Everything that you do for the members, LUNÉ, staff, and people you’ve just met is always with good intent. The amount of love you hold in your heart constantly overflows, so you share it with those around you. Your naturally caring and considerate nature has inspired LUNÉ to be the same for others – not just because it’s a nice thing to do, but because we believe everyone deserves some kindness everyday.

💌 Thank you for being genuine and humble. The way you are unapologetically yourself is one of LUNÉ’s favorite things about you. You have no filters – honest yet kind, silly yet wise. You have shared a lot of personal stories with us and we always love hearing them. As chaotic and wholesome as they can be, these stories are what make you, you. You’re relatable and make a lot of LUNÉ feel seen, even in the simplest ways. Your humility is also very admirable. You’re always grateful and aren’t afraid to show it. You never let your ego get the best of you, even if we know you know how awesome you are! Because of you, we know that humility and confidence can coexist.

💌 Thank you for always cheering us on. You always greet us with 加油！and 今天辛苦啦！ to help us start and end our days on a positive note. Although the words are simple, they make a huge difference in our daily lives. You are always someone who sees the best in everything and unknowingly radiates that energy to the world. We know you have hard days as well, so we hope LUNÉ can be a source of light and strength for you too.

💌 Thank you for being proud of where you come from. A lot of LUNÉ have also moved away from their homes for various reasons and have found it hard to reconnect with or talk about their cultures because of this. They worry about homesickness, losing sense of what “home” really is, and feel like they have to conceal a huge part of who they are just to fit in. But after seeing you always talk about Taiwan; your culture, your food, your people, and hearing you speak in your own language proudly, LUNÉ have learned that there is no need to hide any part of us – especially something that is so significant to who we are. Ever since AWAKEN THE BLOODLINE in TAIPEI, a lot of the newer answers submitted to this project talked about that special day, mostly how you had the brightest smile on your face the entire time and how you proudly exclaimed how great it was to be back home. Your ending ment was also incredibly beautiful. The past few years must have been really difficult for you and we sincerely hope this letter gives you the reassurance you need. Thanks to you, we are also reminded that “home” can be anywhere as long as you’re with those you love, and we are fortunate enough to see solid proof of that with you and &TEAM.
